Workshop: Visions for a New Year
Would you like to be intentional about welcoming in the New Year by setting personal goals that will help you have the best 2021 possible? Would you like some support and encouragement from your Jane Does Well sisters as you think about your hopes and dreams for the coming year? Join us as we explore ways to establish New Year goals that are both empowering and manageable. Each of us will then create our own vision board incorporating these goals. We will use our boards for inspiration throughout the year. Let’s help each other get 2021 off to the best start possible!

January 11th from 7:00-8:30 pm: Keeping the vision alive!
Preparing for the Workshop
We encourage you to begin gathering supplies for your vision board now. If this is your first one, a quick web search will give you plenty of ideas for what you might want. While every vision board is unique, they all include a combination of words and images that will represent your goals and intentions. Here are some suggested vision board supplies:
- A poster board or large piece of sturdy paper. This will serve as your base for the board itself.
- Glue and/or tape
- Scissors
- Markers, pens, highlighters, paint—whatever you love to write and draw with.
- Rulers and stencils for those of you who love a straight line.
- Magazines you can cut up. These are great for finding words and images!
- Images and quotes from the internet you may want to print off.

Ask The Expert – Cate Blake of Atwood and Cherny
Attorney Catharine Blake of Atwood and Cherny represents clients in a wide variety of matrimonial matters, both in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Cate has expertise in complex divorce cases, including valuation, asset division, support, custody, and removal. She has significant experience drafting of prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, as well as litigation of such agreements at the time of a divorce. A component of her practice also includes paternity matters, contempt and modification of divorce or paternity judgments as well as family law related appeals. Cate’s experience includes both litigation and resolving cases outside of the courtroom, whether through mediation, collaborative law, or direct attorney negotiation. She is trained as both a collaborative law attorney and mediator. Cate is also on the Probate and Family Court Category U (Discovery Master) list. Prior to joining Atwood & Cherny, Cate served as a law clerk to the Justices of the Massachusetts Probate and Family Court. During her two years as a judicial law clerk, Cate worked on a variety of family law, probate law and equity matters for the justices of Bristol, Middlesex, Suffolk, and Worcester counties. Cate volunteers her time as Lawyer for the Day in Norfolk County.

Our Special Guest this week is Honorable Robert Langlois!
Hon. Robert W. Langlois is a retired First Justice of the Norfolk and Middlesex Probate and Family Courts. He is presently of Counsel at the Wellesley, Mass. firm of Saponaro Bingham, LLP where he provides consultation services in domestic relations and probate matters as well as extensive Alternative Dispute Resolution services, including mediation, arbitration, conciliation, and private adjudication, to litigants who prefer to pursue a discreet, expeditious resolution of disputes involving family matters. Judge Langlois has participated on numerous education panels for both the judiciary and the bar and has appeared on several radio programs addressing family law issues. He has authored numerous articles for MCLE, Mass. Lawyer’s Weekly, Family Law Quarterly, and other publications. He has also served on many committees for the Probate and Family Court and the MBA, most recently having co-chaired the Joint Bar Committee on Gifted and Inherited Assets.

Hindell Straus Grossman is the founder and owner of Grossman & Associates, Ltd. She was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1985. Hindell has successfully negotiated, litigated and arbitrated hundreds of cases on behalf of her clients. Several of her successes have been published in Massachusetts Lawyer's Weekly and she has been featured in the Needham Tab, Boston Business Journal and the Boston Globe. Hindell began her legal career at a small Boston firm and then started her own Boston firm four years later. She moved Grossman & Associates to Newton in 1999, and maintains offices on Nantucket and in Hingham.
Hindell has been active in both the business and Jewish communities. She participated in the first international collaboration between the Boston Chamber of Commerce and the Montreal Board of Trade. She was a regular speaker for the Canadian Consulate to Canadian business owners interested in doing business in Massachusetts; a lecturer for National Business Institute, Inc.; a panelist for the Small Business Administration; a speaker on business banking; a panelist for the Boston Bar Association; and a presenter on various divorce topics.
For more than two decades Hindell has been a board member of Covenant House in Brighton, Massachusetts which provides affordable senior housing and honors New England's most distinguished men and women. Hindell is also a fundraiser, a donor to various causes, and a Hospitality Host for families needing medical treatment. She is an actual member in ProVisors.
Hindell was raised in Rumson, New Jersey by parents in the retail clothing business. She attended Muhlenberg College and the University of Pennsylvania, and obtained her Juris Doctor from John Marshall Law School in Chicago in 1985. She also trained in the Collaborative Law Process.
